The Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi, chaired, on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters, a meeting devoted to monitoring the implementation of the National Retirement Fund’s service modernisation programme and assessing progress in the measures undertaken to simplify public services and strengthen digital transformation, with the aim of improving support for retirees and facilitating their access to various services.
The Minister heard a presentation by the Fund’s Director General reviewing the implementation of the instructions previously issued by the Minister, which aim to reduce citizens’ visits to the Fund’s facilities by at least 50% by the end of the current year, through expanding the scope of digital services and modern technological solutions, while also reducing the time required to process applications and concerns. The presentation also included the communication plan established to support these measures, raise awareness of digital services and encourage retirees to make greater use of them.
Following the presentation, the Minister welcomed the results achieved, stressing that improving the quality of services provided to retirees is a priority for the sector and a national responsibility that reflects the State’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations towards a category of citizens who have devoted years of their lives to serving the nation. He reaffirmed that the Algerian State remains committed to its social character by providing modern, simplified and citizen-centred public services.
In this context, the Minister issued a number of instructions and directives, notably:
– Continue efforts to reduce retirees’ visits to the Fund’s services by completing the digitalisation of the various services.
– Intensify awareness and communication campaigns to promote digital services, particularly facial recognition technology, which eliminates the need to provide various supporting documents, while adopting communication methods suited to the specific needs of retirees.
– Ensure that retirees receive support throughout all stages of exercising their rights and improve their reception conditions by adopting simplified procedures that facilitate access to services.
– Establish a digital service desk enabling retirees to submit their concerns and track their processing remotely.
– Continue training staff in reception, guidance and communication, while strengthening a culture of community-based and proximity services.
– Enable young professionals to take on positions of responsibility and encourage them to pursue creativity and innovation, thereby contributing to improved performance and the development of public services.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister stressed the need to effectively implement these directives, accelerate the pace of digital transformation and strengthen community outreach, in order to improve service quality and simplify procedures, while enhancing support for retirees, in keeping with the Algerian State’s commitment to preserving its social character and safeguarding the dignity of citizens.
